Our cryogenic storage facility and cord blood & tissue laboratories are conveniently located close to the important transport hubs in South Granville, Sydney. Our facility is fully licensed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration for the manufacture, storage and release of autologous cord blood stem cells.
We opened our first cord blood laboratory in 2001 and, due to the growth in cord blood banking in Australia, we relocated to new purpose built laboratories in 2010. At 2,000m2 our new hi-tech facility is nearly three times the size of our original site and is designed to meet world’s best practice, including clean rooms to minimise the possibility of contamination when processing cord blood & tissue.
Here at Cryosite, we have one of the largest freezer and cryopreservation tank banks in Australia.
Our staff have expertise in running clinical trials logistics, and bio-repository for a variety of large, midsize and small enterprises, including large pharmaceutical, bio-technology companies, research institutes and universities, both locally in Australia and globally.
Cryosite's facility is GMP TGA compliant, NATA accredited, and ISO compliant.

State of the Art Cryogenic Storage
All processed cord blood & tissue samples are stored in liquid nitrogen tanks that are housed in a specially designed cryogenic storage room. The tanks are operated in the vapour-phase mode so that there is no potential for cross-contamination. All tanks are connected to dual environmental monitoring and alarm systems and can be accessed and operated remotely. The system operates automatically to ensure that the liquid nitrogen is kept the specified level.
