Private Family Banking OR Public Banking
You can choose to either bank your baby's cord blood and tissue in a private family bank for the treatment of your child or another compatible family member, or you can donate it to a public bank. Public donations are accepted at several hospitals in Australia.
Family and public banks are both licensed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Publically donated cord blood is not available for your child’s use, and public banks do not bank cord tissue.
